Our History: Research 101

Join the Sacramento History Museum and Sacramento Historian Mary Ellen Burns for a workshop series
to help you find and tell your story.

 

The workshops are free to members of the museum, or any Sacramento historical or cultural association.

Your instructor, Sacramento Historian Mary Ellen Burns will teach you how to use local history research to uncover stories
about the people, places and events that shape our community and our lives.

Session 2 – Online Resources

WHEN: April 6, 2024  –  1-3 PM

Unlimited attendance; $10 per person; Free to members of Museum or any other Sacramento historical or cultural organization.

Session 3 – Your Public Library – Every City has One

WHEN: May 4, 2024  –  1-3 PM
WHERE:  Sacramento Public Library Central Branch, Sacramento Room

Max 30 people; $10 per person; Free to members of Museum or any other Sacramento historical or cultural organization.

  • Learn about local sources of information such as archives, museums, and libraries
  • Find out if there are local experts
  • Hear from other researchers and learn from their accomplishments and challenges
